The purpose of the Party Wall Etc., Act 1996 is to provide owners with rights to undertake certain specific works on or adjacent to adjoining properties, and to give protection to potentially affected neighbours. The Act is prescriptive in placing duties upon the various parties involved in the development process. We provide early advice upon the implications the Act may have on development proposals, and ensure the appropriate procedures are adopted in order to avoid delay.
