Amy Johnson Building Refurbishment
Our building surveyors led a multi-disciplinary team in the refurbishment of the Amy Johnson Building, on behalf of the University of Sheffield.
The building is of a historic character and located within the context of the listed Sir Frederick Mappin Building, we developed therefore a sympathetic scheme which returned the structure to its former glory whilst adopting a more contemporary aesthetic approach. Our building surveyors completed an extensive survey of the building which informed the detailed design. We researched an aluminium window profile which was acceptable to the local planning authority and obtained planning consent on behalf of the University. The refurbishment scheme was procured traditionally with Castle Owen being responsible for administration of the contract in addition to quality management.
